Project Overview:
When Bank of the West decided to locate a new operations center in Tempe, AZ, they wanted a workspace that reflects new ways of working, encourages group interaction, and is non-hierarchal. Working with Alliance Project Advisors and Ajanta Design, RBI helped construct a facility that realized that vision.
In the design, curvilinear, adjustable workstations are clustered around the perimeter glass while the few private offices are pulled to the interior. Curved pendant lights provide direct and indirect illumination to the space above and dim depending on the light from the windows. Each floor is home to formal and informal collaboration areas, including phone rooms, chat rooms, conference rooms, open lounge areas and a large commons space. Wi-Fi and VDI terminals throughout encourage employees to move easily and work all around the office.
The commons area on each floor opens to the structure above and provides a gathering space for meals, informal presentations and all-hands meetings.
As Bank of the West moves into their new facility, they don’t just have offices to house their staff, they have a dynamic, 6-floor multifunctional facility that inspires their entire team.
